Structure linux

I have not been posting a long time, because there are a lot of agendas that I have not been completed, this time I am going for the info, how does the structure of the operating system on linux, OK let us refer to the following article, Similar to unix, linux is also an operating system structured. Structure linux or linux directory structure is not just about the software but also the hardware concerns, stating the physical part of a computer system such as the system unit, consol, terminals, printers and communication lines.

Structure linux related software consists of:

1. Kernel

2.Shell

3.Utilitas

4.Aplikasi

The kernel is the main part (core) of the linux system, which directly control hardware devices and displays various forms of low-level functions. Several kernel functions performed are:

Service Date and Time System

File management and security

Service process input-ouput

Process scheduling and management system

Memory Management

Handling interruptions process

Linux has a user interface for the connection between the outside of the linux kernel is called the system call. System call instructs the kernel to perform certain activities as requested by the calling program.

Shell is a translator (interpreter) on linux system. Shell is what translates the commands given user, in other words shell is an interface between the user with a linux system. Some of the existing shell on linux system including the Bourne Again Shell (/ bin / bash), C shell (/ bin / csh), Korn shell (/ bin / ksh).

Utilities are provided by linux program to perform specific tasks. While the application is a program created by the user to memenuhi own needs.

Linux Directory Structure

File is the basic structure of a computer system that is responsible for maintaining data / information. Naming a file in unix is generally limited to 14 characters in length. Except in Berkeley Unix and Linux that can reach 256 characters. In Unix / Linux, the files are internally marked with a unique number, known as the inode. Because remember numbers more difficult than remembering the letters unix / linux gives you the option of naming the file with the letter. Unix / Linux file split into 3 main categories:

1. Ordinary file

File is used to store data, program source, documents, graphics and other objects program. This file can be divided into:

The text file

Shell scripts

File executable (binary)

The data files (which have been coded)

2. Directory

Is a file that contains a list of names and inode numbers of each files

3. Special files

Is a file that normally expresses a physical device (hardware), but it could also be files associated with inter-process communication. In Unix / Linux hardware (disk, printer) otherwise glittering a file. Special file is divided into 3 parts:

Block device file (block device)

Character device files (block device)

File named pipes (Â named pipe)

The entire collection of files in a Unix / Linux file system called. File system Unix / Linux has the form of a composition hierarchy (tree) as the form of an inverted tree, where a peak named Root.Cabang-branch of the root is called the Directory, and so on. Symbols of the root is /. Root has a branch called the default directory, which means the directory names are known in all the Systema Unix / Linux. This is the understanding of the Linux directory structure. Here is part of the composition linux directory structure.

Linux Directory Structure

Here is its usefulness directories available on the Linux system:

/

Is a useful directory to contain all the files contained in the linux system.

/ Bin

Is the directory that contains the files that can be directly executed.

/ Boot

Is the directory that contains the files used when booting linux.

/ Dev

Is the directory containing the files of hardware owned by the computer (for example: / dev / had) is a file from the hard drive, / dev/fd0 is the file to a floppy, dev / cdrom for cdrom is the file on the computer.

/ Etc

Is the directory that contains the files used to configure linux. These files are usually in the form of files or script files of type text.

/ Home

Directory is used to store all user directories

/ Lib

Is the directory that contains the library files needed by programs on a linux system root directory.

/ Mnt

Is the directory that contains the directories that you can use to memounting peripheral devices owned by the pc.

Examples floppy and cdrom. For details you can see the fstab and mtab files in the directory / etc which is a configuration file used sebagai mounting peripheral devices to the computer.

/ Proc

Is the directory containing the files buffer used to inform the processes that are running on a linux system.

/ Root

Is the home directory for the root.

/ Sbin

Advantages of linux backtrack 5

Excess backtrack 5, here are the 5 advantages backtrack know what yet, if anyone knows yet, here I would love to know, what are the advantages of linux backtrack 5, which certainly was more fun to use linux than on windows, then you would agree that Backtrack is a Linux Distro that has a collection of dedicated applications as the tester against the vulnerabilities of a system or network application.

Applications contained in the distributions Backtack collection consists of many applications such as security testers; application security testers LAN, WIFI, WAN, Web Application security testing, application security testing applications like reverse enginering etc.. very much at all to the point that I confused myself to learn to use it.

Backtrack is suitable for the systems analyst in charge of maintaining security of information systems both in the form of application, network or website. if used by people who are "less responsible" backtrack could turn into a very terrible. imagine if the network systems and applications your company penetrated using this distro, and then the necessary data is stolen or manipulated. Reflecting the above illustration, it's good for IT professionals who happen to have a job as a Security maintainer learn to understand and use the Backtrack distro.

Advantages and Benefits of Ubuntu

advantages to using linux ubuntu, what the hell emang benefits and advantages under ubuntu linux menggukan will discuss about the advantages and benefits of using ubuntu linux:

Of benefit or similar benefit may also be obtained on other Linux distributions, although not specifically the same. Here are some of the advantages or benefits.

  1. Free This is already a major hallmark of Ubuntu. If there are free and have the same ability with other operating systems are not free, let alone have excess fat, why not used? By using Ubuntu at least we can save money in situsasi and unfavorable economic conditions at this time.
  2. There is no virus, trojan or malware One that made me decide to use linux, in this case Ubuntu, is the number of viruses in the world bersliweran Windows operating system. Once upon a time my hard drive 'out' just because a USB flash disk that is attached to the notebook. For some reason, perhaps because the new virus, anti virus which I use did not bring up the warning or the like. Though I have always been diligent in updating the antivirus being used.
  3. Well, because the virus is rather difficult to live in the Linux environment, then I no longer need to bother looking for the best antivirus and always update it. I did not have to worry anymore when there's a USB flash disk is plugged in, or do not have to worry anymore to do the activity on the internet for fear of malware or trojan.
  4. Stable Well this one seems not (or may not) be matched by Windows. When I use Windows I often had the name "hang" that can only be solved by resetting the computer. In Ubuntu this kind of thing is extremely rare. Do not believe? Please try and compare
  5. Safe Linux as a derivative of the Unix operating system is famous for its security problems. Unlike the system in Windows, on Linux a user can not do whatever the extent of operations related to its own files. In Ubuntu, the only way to do the installation, delete, rename and add something to the system simply by using the sudo command, followed by the password question. This seems to start to be implemented in Windows Vista, unfortunately the implementation is still not perfect. With a security system like this is, a virus (if any) will be difficult to live in Ubuntu Do not require high specification hardware Ubuntu does not require hardware with a high specification. In fact there are many derivative of the Ubuntu distro that intentionally created for use on computers with low specifications.
  6. Update OS and application as a whole Windows has Windows Update, which unfortunately only updates the operating system and other Microsoft products. While the Ubuntu updates will be done not only on the operating system but the whole application is installed using the repository.
  7. Already, there are a lot of repository that is placed on local servers By using an existing repository on local servers, the activities of installing and updating the system and applications more quickly. In addition, because nearly all of the applications contained in the repository we need the risk of spread of the virus (if any) can be avoided. Many viruses spread themselves through a variety of pirated applications, ah ... you certainly know about it
  8. No need to bother looking for crack or keygen It is no secret, Windows users will always be busy to find crack or keygen for applications or tools to be used can be exploited to use the crack Of the following operating systems Well, it need not be done in Ubuntu for almost all applications that we need we can get from its repository for free!
  9. Desktop display that can be changed at will You can easily change the default appearance of Ubuntu (either GNOME or KDE) if you do not like it. In fact, you can use a desktop-environtment other than GNOME or KDE, no XFCE, Fluxbox, IceWM, Ede, Enlightenment, Window Maker, Openbox, Blackbox etc.. All available (again) for free!
  10. Can learn Almost everything on the linux opensource besifat. So what are the benefits? If you are a programmer then you can easily learn many things in linux with open source code and learn from it. But remember, do not arbitrarily change and acknowledge it as a result of your work
  11. Allows to make your own distro If you are not satisfied with the existing Ubuntu, you can create your own Ubuntu derivative distro that it fits your needs. Furthermore this distro you can use for personal purposes, the office or will be deployed as a new distro you fib
  12. Community that is always ready to help There are a lot of the Ubuntu user community is ready to help if you encounter any difficulties or problems. You can log into the Ubuntu mailing list or just looking for a solution using Google. Almost all problems can be overcome only with the capital to find and read
in addition I paste a bit of advantage ubuntu:
Here is a public commitment to the Ubuntu team to its users:
  1. Ubuntu will always be free of charge, and therefore there will be no additional costs for the "enterprise edition", we will make Ubuntu all the best jobs available to everyone on the same Free terms.
  2.  Ubuntu also provides commercial support from hundreds of companies around the world. Ubuntu is released regularly and can you predict; latest Ubuntu release available every six months. Each release will be supported by Ubuntu with improvements in security and other fixes are free for at least 18 months.
  3. Ubuntu will include the best translations and accessibility infrastructure that is owned by the Free Software community, it is useful to make Ubuntu can be used by many people. We are also working with the entire Free Software community in terms of bug fixes and code sharing.
  4. Ubuntu is fully committed to the principles of free software development; for this we encourage people to use free software and open source, and then fix it and then pass it back.
  5. Ubuntu is suitable for both desktop and server. Ubuntu currently supports a variety of computer architectures such as PC (Intel x86), 64-bit PC (AMD64), PowerPC (Apple iBook and Powerbook, G4 and G5), Sun UltraSPARC and T1 (Sun Fire T1000 and T2000).
  6. Ubuntu includes more than 16,000 pieces of software, and for desktop installation can be performed using only one CD. Ubuntu includes all standard for desktop application from word processing, spread sheet applications (spreadsheet) to the application to access the Internet, software for web servers, programming languages and tools for a variety of games, of course.
